T7 Global appoints Azman Yakim as CEO, Tan redesignated as executive director

KUALA LUMPUR: T7 Global Bhd has named Mohd Azman Mohd Yakim as its new group chief executive officer (CEO) and redesignated Tan Kay Zhuin to the role of executive director.

Tan joined T7 Global in 2016 as head of offshore construction and maintenance before rising to group chief operating officer in 2018 and group CEO in 2022.

During his tenure, he oversaw the expansion of T7's energy division, covering engineering and construction works, maintenance and modification activities, hookup and commissioning operations, and well services.

He also led the development of the group's in-house offshore assets, including its hydraulic workover unit, drilling jack-up unit and mobile offshore production unit.

Tan additionally drove the group's diversification into the industrial solutions segment, which includes aerospace, security infrastructure and airport logistics.

Azman brings more than 25 years of industry experience, having held senior roles at Siemens, General Electric, Dresser-Rand and Emerson.

He joined T7 Global in 2019 as CEO of Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd and currently oversees its energy division, managing operations across the upstream oil and gas value chain.

His expertise in operational management, process optimisation and business transformation is expected to support T7 Global's efforts to strengthen operational performance and enhance value creation.

T7 Global executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani said the leadership transition reflects the board's commitment to effective stewardship as the company enters its next phase of growth.

"The board acknowledges Tan's contributions in shaping the group's strategic direction and strengthening its core businesses. Azman's industry experience and familiarity with our operations will ensure a smooth transition and continued stability.

"We remain focused on disciplined execution and delivering long-term value for shareholders," he said in a statement.

At 2.40pm, T7 Global's share price was unchanged at 30 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM276.08 million.
