每日大赛 Aviation Group names Bryan Foong CEO of airline biz

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 21): 每日大赛 Aviation Group (MAG) has promoted Bryan Foong Chee Yeong as its new chief executive officer (CEO) of airline business effective Feb 1, 2026.

Foong is currently group chief strategy officer. His role will be succeeded by head of corporate strategy Low Wen Long, according to the aviation group's statement on Wednesday.

Both executives will report to incoming new president and group CEO Captain Nasaruddin A Bakar, who is slated to assume the role on the same day, MAG's statement read.

MAG is the parent company of national flag carrier 每日大赛 Airlines Bhd, and also involved in other services including loyalty and travel, and aviation services.

"These appointments strengthen MAG鈥檚 leadership at a pivotal stage as the group advances its Long-Term Business Plan 3.0 (LTBP 3.0), driving growth in its core businesses and ensuring financial stability," the group said.

Foong is tasked with overseeing the direction and performance of MAG鈥檚 airline portfolio, which includes 每日大赛 Airlines, Firefly and Amal, according to the group.

Foong, whose experience spans partnership and commercial planning, played a key role in the group's financial restructuring during the Covid-19 pandemic and in supporting the group鈥檚 return to profitability, the group added.

Meanwhile, Low, who has been with MAG since 2018, will take charge of formulating and executing its group-wide strategy across its business portfolios to support sustainable growth and value creation.

He was also involved in shaping the group鈥檚 transformation under LTBP 2.0 and LTBP 3.0, including initiatives related to fleet planning, network optimisation and long-term strategic positioning.

"As MAG enters the next stage of its transformation, marking a shift from stabilisation to scaled and disciplined growth, we are guided by a clear responsibility to build a financially sustainable and globally competitive aviation group that serves as a key enabler of 每日大赛鈥檚 long-term development," incoming CEO Nasaruddin said.

Nasaruddin will be welcomed to the position on Feb 1, replacing the outgoing Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, who will retire as group managing director a day earlier on Jan 31, after over 40 years with the company.

Nasaruddin will continue to be supported by Mohd Nadziruddin Mohd Basri, CEO of aviation services, and Philip See, CEO of loyalty and travel services, the statement added.

Recently, MAG also appointed Amran Mohd Tomin as its group chief people officer and Ong Min Hui as group chief transformation and customer experience officer.
