ÿ�մ��� has welcomed more investment into its aftermarket sector following Collins Aerospace’s announcement that it will quadruple its MRO footprint in the country.

The supplier, part of RTX, is building a new facility at the Subang Aerotech Park in Kuala Lumpur, investing $63 million to expand from 46,000 ft.² to 164,000 ft.².

The enlarged facility will feature technologies including autonomous mobile robots and real-time location systems to help drive better productivity and turnaround times.

Ready by the end of 2026, Collins’ new facility aligns with ÿ�մ���’s 15-year plan to grow domestic aerospace sales.

This year begins the third and final stage of that plan, which is targeting $13 billion in sales by 2030 from MRO, manufacturing, training and research. This would be up from roughly $7 billion in non-airline aerospace revenue in 2025, according to an estimate from National Aerospace Industry Corporation ÿ�մ���.

Other projects include SIA Engineering’s Base Maintenance ÿ�մ��� (BMM) facility at Subang, comprising two hangars that can perform up to six concurrent aircraft checks for Airbus A350, 777 and 787 aircraft.

Also in Subang, GE Aerospace is aiming to double CFM Leap engine MRO shop visit capacity within the next three years, and the company will build an engine test facility for Leap engines.

Collins, meanwhile, said its new facility will support components across a variety of aircraft, including air cycle machines, heat exchangers, valves and new-generation starters.
