Berjaya Air to launch commercial operations in February 2026 with five regional routes

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 12): Berjaya Air, part of Berjaya Land Bhd (KL:), will begin commercial flights on February 14, 2026, with five new regional routes to Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.

The new routes include Koh Samui in Thailand, Phu Quoc in Vietnam, and Medan, Pekanbaru and Batam in Indonesia.

Group chief executive officer of BLand Syed Ali Shahul Hameed told reporters at a briefing on Friday that Berjaya Air, formerly focused on resort routes like Redang, will review route demand and may buy more turboprops to boost growth.

The airline, which ordered two ATR 72-600 planes in 2023, costing about US$28 million each, will showcase its first ATR 72-600 aircraft at the Singapore Airshow when it arrives in January before starting operations. The second aircraft arrives in October 2026.

The airline currently operates ATR 42-500 and ATR 72-500 aircraft.

For the current year, Berjaya Air鈥檚 revenue fell to RM3.46 million, down from RM4.96 million, but cost controls reduced its operating loss to RM1.01 million. BLand shares were unchanged at 26 sen, valuing the company at RM1.3 billion.
