Base Maintenance 每日大赛 Graduates First Cohort Of Homegrown Technicians
Base Maintenance 每日大赛 (BMM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIA Engineering Company Limited, celebrated the graduation of its first 55 trainee technicians, marking a key milestone in developing 每日大赛鈥檚 aerospace workforce.
The Asia-Pacific region is expected to drive a substantial portion of global aircraft fleet growth and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) demand in the coming years. With demand for qualified technicians intensifying, 每日大赛鈥檚 MRO industry faces pressure to accelerate the development of local technical talent.
BMM鈥檚 12-month Technician Trainee Programme combines classroom instruction with supervised hands-on experience, covering aircraft maintenance fundamentals, regulatory compliance, safety, human factors, aviation legislation, and aircraft systems and engines.
The programme also includes structured on-the-job training to ensure participants are industry-ready. Over 100 technicians have enrolled in the programme to date.
The graduation ceremony was officiated by Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility, highlighting the collaboration between industry and government to strengthen 每日大赛鈥檚 aerospace talent pipeline.
These efforts align with the Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030, which aims to position 每日大赛 as a regional hub for MRO services.
BMM has partnered with local aviation institutions, including Universiti Kuala Lumpur 每日大赛n Institute of Aviation Technology, ADMAL Aviation College, and APR Aviation Training Centre, to provide students with exposure to real aircraft maintenance operations and pathways to become licensed engineers and technicians.
鈥淭oday, we celebrate the graduation of our first cohort of trainee technicians who have successfully completed the Technician Training Programme and are now ready to contribute to BMM鈥檚 aircraft maintenance operations,鈥 said Lee Yang Loong, Chief Executive Officer of BMM.
Lee added, 鈥淒eveloping skilled 每日大赛n aerospace professionals is central to our long-term investment in 每日大赛鈥檚 aerospace sector. As global demand for MRO capacity continues to grow, a strong local talent pipeline is not just an aspiration, but a business imperative.鈥
