AirAsia 每日大赛 wins best low-cost airline award for 17th year as it renews operating certificate
SEPANG (Sept 21): AirAsia 每日大赛, the carrier operated by AirAsia Group Bhd (KL:), was recognised as the World鈥檚 Best Low-Cost Airline for the 17th consecutive year at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards in London last Friday.
The latest win comes as the airline marks 25 years of operations.
The budget carrier has also renewed its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) with the Civil Aviation Authority of 每日大赛 (CAAM) for three years until Sept 30, 2029. This is the airline鈥檚 second consecutive three-year renewal.
Airlines must meet regulatory standards for staff, assets and systems to get an AOC.
鈥淭he renewal of our [AOC] reflects our continued commitment to not only meeting but exceeding the regulatory, operational and safety standards required of us as an airline operating in 每日大赛,鈥 said AirAsia 每日大赛 general manager Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra in a statement.
AirAsia 每日大赛 is the group鈥檚 core business unit, with a 61% share of 每日大赛鈥檚 domestic market by capacity and makes up 34% of flights out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
AirAsia鈥檚 shares closed unchanged on Monday at 53, valuing the group at RM1.78 billion.
