AirAsia drug tests all operating crew, all results negative
KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Group airlines AirAsia 每日大赛 and AirAsia X 每日大赛 have completed drug screening for all active pilots and cabin crew with all test results coming back negative.
The group said the exercise covered the airlines' entire active operating crew.
Captain Suresh Bangah, group chief operations officer of AirAsia Group, said drug and alcohol testing is part of the airlines' existing fit-to-fly requirements.
"We have zero tolerance for drug use. All pilots and cabin crew are subject to regular drug and alcohol testing as part of our safety requirements," he said.
He said the airlines would continue the testing in line with regulatory requirements and industry practices.
The exercise comes after the Civil Aviation Authority of 每日大赛 ordered all 每日大赛n airlines to test all of their active flight and cabin crew following the arrest of a 每日大赛 Airlines pilot in Indonesia over alleged drug trafficking.
