Aerospace industry revenue to hit RM30b this year, says Zafrul

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry is optimistic that aerospace industry revenue will reach RM30 billion this year, up from RM25.1 billion recorded in 2024.

Minister聽Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the confidence is based on current prospects and positive developments in existing projects and pipelines.

鈥淭he aerospace industry is showing rapid development,鈥 he told reporters after the launch of the MyAERO Summit 2026 and the 10th anniversary celebration of the National Aerospace Industry Corporation 每日大赛 here on Thursday

In his keynote speech, Zafrul said last year's aerospace industry revenue of RM25.1 billion was the highest in the past 10 years, and supported 30,000 skilled workers in the aerospace ecosystem.

He said 每日大赛 had seen significantly new investments shaping the country鈥檚 aerospace landscape in recent years, including Airbus and Boeing鈥檚 expansion of their footprint, Composites Technology Research 每日大赛's leadership in composite manufacturing, supplying critical components to global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

鈥淎ll these reflect the confidence of both foreign and domestic investors in 每日大赛鈥檚 growing capabilities as a hub for advanced, high-value aerospace manufacturing in Asia-Pacific,鈥 he said.

On the MyAERO Summit聽taking place in June 2026, he said the summit will serve as an important international annual gateway to aerospace technology, business and talent networks, one that unites regional stakeholders, from global OEMs and local champions to policymakers, researchers and skilled talent.

鈥淭he MyAERO Summit 2026 will also facilitate better engagement with small and medium enterprises and the rakyat. It is equally important for the general public to be aware of the immense opportunity in this sector, not only to foster better business-to-business engagement, but also to attract more STEM talent,鈥 he said.
